Upcoming Online Meeting

Our next meeting will be online on Saturday 15th August 2026 via Zoom at 5pm.
If you would like to attend please send us your email via the contact sheet or direct to contact@blackbritishdoctorscollective.com and we will send you the link before the meeting.

Welcome

Welcome to the new website of the Black British Doctors Collective (BBDC).  We are a group of Black British doctors committed to addressing racial inequities in UK medicine.  We advocate for systemic change to ensure our voices shape the future of UK healthcare. We act collectively to ensure our colleagues are defended and empowered to stand up for themselves and ensure just treatment.

Membership

It is hoped that the BBDC will be constituted as a trade union which gives members much greater powers of advocacy and support.  So any doctor at any level, including medical students, can join us. All those signing up in the 'ordinary' and 'senior' membership categories must be employed as a doctor anywhere in the United Kingdom. We also have a special associated membership for allies, retirees and non-doctors.

We need 21 names initially to register as a trade union with the Certification Officer.  If you would like to become a member, please click on the 'join us' button and complete the membership form and your chosen pricing plan.  To support our work and the administration required to maintain BBDC,  we will be charging fees based on four membership tiers - student, ordinary, senior and associate members.  Associate members will have no voting rights and student members will have limited voting rights under our constitution. If you would like to become a member, please navigate in the menu to the 'my subscriptions' page and complete the form with all your details.

If you would like to find out more about the BBDC without committing to membership, please complete our contact sheet at the end of this website or email contact@blackbritishdoctorscollective.com and we can answer your queries.

Thank you for your interest in the BBDC.
